Lady Buckeyes Win Mercedes-Benz

College CentralCOLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's golf team captured its first tournament title of the season as the Buckeyes posted a final-round of 296 to edge out Oklahoma State by one stroke at the 2003 Mercedes-Benz Championships. The women finished the event with a three-round total of 884. The event was being held at the par 72, 6,201-yard Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.

Senior Allison Hanna (Portland, Ore./David Douglas) tied for first after three-rounds and defeated Courtney Mahon from Arkansas in a playoff to earn medalist honors as she made her second playoff appearance during the fall season. Hanna's first playoff of the fall came during the Lady Northern Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio. Hanna finished the tournament with a three-round total of 217.
 
Teammate Lindsay Knowlton (Jr., Toronto, Ont./Havergal College) also posted a strong performance for the Buckeyes as she posted a three-round total of 220 tying for seventh.
 
The Buckeyes return to action Nov. 2-4 as they travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to compete in the Hooters Collegiate Match Play.
