Scott Simpson won the U.S. Open in 1987, Corey Pavin in 1995, Steve Jones won the U.S. Open in 1996. Bob Tway won the PGA Championship back in 1986. None has yet wrapped up a Masters bid. The Players Championship this week will be the last chance to get in.
Angel Cabrera was in contention for the Bay Hill Invitational title last week, and he isnt in. John Cook is 44 and has contended for several majors ' he isnt in yet, either. So has Jay Haas ' ditto, he isnt in the Masters.
John Huston was another who contended into Sunday at Bay Hill, who appears to be at the top of his game, and who doesnt have an invitation. Craig Parry of Australia, Loren Roberts, Steve Flesch, Jeff Maggart and Per-Ulrik Johannson of Sweden are others who could jump up and win and earn a Masters invitation.
