Lawrie Takes Shot of the Year Award

Paul Lawrie_Swing_HSPaul Lawrie was named recipient of the European Tours Shot of the Year award for his dramatic 40-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole which won the Dunhill Links Championship at St. Andrews.
The shot came from the infamous Valley of Sin, and was reminiscent of Costantino Roccas miracle putt in the 95 British Open as well as Miguel Angel Martins in the 00 Dunhill Cup.
For Lawrie, the putt not only sealed the tournament in his favor, but it also broke a winless streak since his 99 British Open Championship.
It has to be the most important putt of my life, said the Scot not long after his win.
