Love Pulls Out of Compaq Classic

Davis Love III has withdrawn from this week's Compaq Classic of New Orleans due to a reoccurring back ailment.
Love won this event in 1995, thus qualifying for the Masters Tournament, where he finished runner-up behind Ben Crenshaw.
This was to be Love's second tournament since missing the cut in this year's Masters. Love played three weeks ago at the WorldCom Classic, where he tied for seventh.
Love has five top-10 finishes this season, including a victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. He is currently sixth on the 2001 PGA Tour money list and is eighth on the Official World Golf Ranking.
