Love Slides Up to No 3 in World Rankings


With his dominating victory over the weekend at The International, Davis Love III valuted three places to No. 3 in the lastest world golf rankings. He replaces Jim Furyk, who held the spot for just one week after his win at the Buick Open.
Davis Love IIIIt was Love's career best fourth win of the year.
Tiger Woods leads for the 209th consecutive week and is just a year and two weeks shy of breaking Greg Norman record of 332 weeks at No. 1.
Ernie Els remained in second with his strong performace at The International. He tied for sixth with former No. 2 in the world Phil Mickelson.
Following Love in fourth is Vijay Singh, Furyk, Mike Weir at No. 6, David Toms, Kenny Perry, Padraig Harrington and then Phil Mickelson, who climbed back into the top 10.
Postions 11 through 15 go as follows: Nick Price, Retief Goosen, Justin Leonard, Chris DiMarco and Robert Allenby.
Ian Poulter, who won the European Tour's Nordic Open jumped 23 spots to No. 53 in the world.
