The tournament, sponsored by Franklin American Mortgage Company, will be held May 13-16 at the Legends Club, Rob Neal, the LPGA's vice president of tournament business affairs, said Monday.
The LPGA had the Sara Lee Classic in Nashville for 15 years before moving to Franklin in 2000 for three years. Franklin lost its spot on the schedule this year when a corporate sponsor could not be arranged.
Franklin American agreed to sponsor the event for three years. The first purse will be worth $900,000, with a minimum of $1 million in 2005.
'Nashville was a very important market,' Neal said. 'Not just to the LPGA as an important place for us to be on the schedule, but nowhere on our tour did our players feel more at home than here in Nashville and eventually here in Franklin.'
The 72-hole tournament will benefit Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
