McCormack to Receive 2001 PGA Distinguished Service Award


Mark McCormack, founder and CEO of International Management Group (IMG), has been named the recipient of the PGA Distinguished Service Award.
McCormack got his management start in 1960 with his first client, Arnold Palmer. IMG is now the most powerful management agency in the world.
'Mark McCormack revolutionized the sports world by his keen business sense and foresight and in doing so impacted PGA Professionals as well as athletes in many sports,' said PGA of America President Jack Connelly.
Today, McCormack's list of clients includes Tiger Woods, David Duval and Karrie Webb.

The PGA Distinguished Service Award honors individuals who have had a universal impact on the life and livelihood of the PGA Professional, and who have helped perpetuate the values and ideals of The PGA of America.
