McKelvey Hoping For Win No 2 this Week

After taking a week off, the Buy.Com Tour returns to action this week in Broussard, La., for the Buy.Com Lousiana Open.
Local product Rob McKelvey will be teeing it up once again following his dramatic victory in last years edition, when he came from four strokes back in the final round to win by one shot over Ian Leggatt and Guy Hill.
McKelvey shot a final round 68 and cinched up the title with a phenomenal third shot to the 72nd hole, the par-5 18th, a 60-yard wedge to about 18 inches from the cup. The result was a tap-in birdie and a total winning score of 14-under-par 274.
For McKelvey, the victory marked his first on the Buy.Com circuit since his inaugural season in 1994.
Joining McKelvey this year will be a solid field, including winners of the first two events of the 2001 season, Chris Couch and Deane Pappas. Couch won the Florida Classic, while Pappas was victorious two weeks ago at the Monterrey Open.
For the tenth year now, Le Triomphe Country Club has been the host site of this venue. It is a par-72 layout measuring 7,004 yards, and has seen some solid names as winners here, such as R.W. Eaks in 1993 and Paul Stankowski in 96.
Casey Martin will also be in the field this week, as will former PGA Tour winners Dan Pohl, Jim McGovern and Dickey Pride.
