PGA Tour (75x100)The PGA Tour ' in conjunction with sponsors Mercedez-Benz, Kapalua Land Company and ESPN ' announced Friday that the Mercedes Championships will remain the Tours season-opening event through at least 2006.
A four-year contract extension was made, which not only ensured the dates, but also will keep the winners-only event based at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii.

Prior to that year, La Costa had held the event since 1969.
