Mickelson Pulls Out of Amex

Phil Mickelson has withdrawn from this week's World Golf Championships-American Express Championship. The world's No.2 player called tournament officials Tuesday afternoon to inform them of his decision not to play.
Mickelson was en route to Houston, Tx. on Tuesday to take part in a media day for the Tour Championship. His flight was diverted to Austin when the FAA put a halt to all domestic air travel in the wake of several terrorist attacks.
Mickelson decided to return to his home in Scottsdale, Az. by car to be with his family.
Tournament officials announced Tuesday that play has been canceled for Thursday. Players will play 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes Saturday and Sunday.
