Nagl, of Berlin, Germany, shot an outward half of 32 and then came home in a fine 34 strokes to lead by one shot over three other players, including Tonya Gill, Jeanne-Marie Busuttil and Michele Vinieratos.
Four others golfers are two back following scores of 68, and noted tour player and current money-leader from Tampa, Fla., Beth Bauer sits one shot further adrift following a round of 3-under 69.
This weeks event in Lakeland marks the last of 21 events for the 2001 season on the Futures Tour.
The year began in early March with the Pacific Bell Futures Classic, and this weeks event boasts a total purse of $75,000, $10,500 of which will go to the eventual champion.
