Neumann Gets Womens Open Offer


Liselotte Neumann, the 1988 U.S. Women's Open champion, has been offered a special exemption into the 2001 Championship by the Women's Committee of the United States Golf Association.
Neumann's exemption brings the number of players exempt into the tournament to 63. The remaining places in the field of 150 will be filled from sectional qualifying at 11 sites, as well as the winners of the next five LPGA Tour events.
The Women's Open will be played May 31-June 3 at Southern Pines, N.C.
