The 40th CPC date has yet to be determined.
Twin Warriors Golf Club opened in May, 2001, and is adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. The par-72 layout can be stretched to a maximum of 7,736 yards, including the par-5 16th hole measuring 648 yards.
The 36th CPC will be the first conducted in New Mexico, and the first hosted in the Southwest since The 1969 CPC in Chandler, Ariz. The 1999 Western CPC was played at nearby Santa Ana Golf Club.
Twin Warriors Golf Club course is routed in and around 20 ancient cultural sites. The course is marked by grassy knolls and ridges dotted with juniper and pinon pine. Several land features, including the sacred butte Tuyuna or 'Snakehead,' are framed by spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains.
Located on the Santa Ana Pueblo Reservation, the golf club's name was inspired by the legend of the Twin Warriors, Mase'ewi and Uyuye'ewi, considered the leaders in war and defenders and protectors of all people in times of peace.
The 2002 CPC will be conducted June 20-23, at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky. The event in 2004 is set to be played at the Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Oh., while The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina gets the nod in 2005.
