Nicklaus and PGA to Provide Funding for First Tee


PGA of AmericaThe PGA of America and Jack Nicklaus have partnered to create a $2 million endownment that will provide teaching grants to First Tee Chapters who utilize instruction from PGA members or apprentices.
An eligible First Tee Chapter can receive up to two $5,000 grants within the five-year program, and it is expected that the total amount of funds will reach $200,000 per year.
The First Tee program was created by The PGA Foundation in the 1980s, and teaches young people basic golf skills, and enhances them through games and other for-fun activities.
The program has been a rousing success since its inception, and the PGA of America was one of its original founding sponsors, contributing some $6 million towards The First Tee since 1998.
