Oldest Ever to Make Hole-in-One Dies at 101


Harold Hoyt Stilson, Sr., the oldest golfer on record to make a hole-in-one, died Saturday following a bout with a viral infection. He was 101.
Stilson made the ace in May of last year at the Deerfield Country Club in Florida when he holed a 4-iron at the 108-yard par-3 16th at the age of 101. His feat attracted attention from near and far ' Florida Governor Jeb Bush called to congratulate him, and he appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno as well as ESPNs SportsCenter.
Stilson was born Apr. 10, 1900, and first took up the game in 1921.
