The decision came late Thursday evening, in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States of America. It was a direct result of freight embargoes which have been placed on the airline industry, as well as the concern of airline travel.
The number of merchants planning to attend the expo had been set at 480, including well-known companies Nike Golf and Orlimar Golf.
Now, those organizations will have to wait until the season-opening PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. to show off their products.
The PGA Merchandise Show is scheduled for Jan. 25-28, 2002.
