PGA Tour Co-Sanctions Events in Australia


PGA Tour (75x100)The PGA Tour and the Australasian PGA Tour will co-sanction two tournaments next year, the Jacobs Creek Open at Adelaide, Australia, March 7-10, and the Clearwater Classic in Christchurch, New Zealand, March 14-17. The tournaments will feature players from the Buy.Com Tour and the Australasian Tour.
Wayne Grady, chairman of the PGA Tour of Australia, said, 'The Jacob's Creek Open next year will be the first event ever scheduled on our tour to be awarded U.S. PGA Tour co-sanctioned status, which is very significant.' The New Zealand tournament will follow one week later.
The Jacobs Creek Open will have a payout of Australian $l million (approximately $493,000), while the Clearwater Classic will have a $1.2 million Australian (approximately $592,000).
