Quigley fired a 7-under-par 65 to share first place with Gary McCord at the Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Long Grove, Ill.
Fred Gibson, Bob Gilder and Rod Murray are tied for third place, three shots back at 4-under. Bruce Lietzke, making his Senior PGA Tour debut this week, opened in 2-over-par 74.
Dana is the uncle to Brett Quigley, who shot 62 Friday to grab the lead in the B.C. Open.
'I'm much more excited about him leading at the B.C. Open than me being tied for the lead here,' Quigley said. 'They told me he was leading as soon as I walked off the 18th green. My wife will have the Palm (Pilot) out there tomorrow. We'll be checking his score on every hole.'
The elder Quigley is in search of his fifth career Senior victory, and his first of the season. Friday, he parred his first five holes before birdieing seven of his last 13.
McCord recorded six birdies, one bogey and an eagle on the par-5 11th.
Hale Irwin and Raymond Floyd are in a group four off the lead at 3-under-par. Defending champion Tom Kite shot a 2-under 70.
