It was at this venue last year that Fran Quinn came from three strokes back on Sunday to win the tournament by three shots over Australian Mark Hensby.
While Quinn took home $72,000 for the performance - some $30,000 more than Hensby on that day - it was the Aussie who would end with more success come season's end.
Hensby is playing the PGA Tour these days. He finished second on the 2000 money list with just under $300,000.
Quinn, on the other hand, will be making a return trip to Florida this week. After his great start to the season at this event last year, he could not keep up the torrid pace, ending at 39th on the money list with about $125,000 to show for it.
Of course, only the top-15 money earners were granted an automatic trip to the PGA Tour.
So, it's back to Gainesville for Quinn.
Nevertheless, the Massachusetts resident is one of the better players on the tour, and will be competing with the rest for an increased winner's share of $76,500.
Quinn turns 36 this Sunday, and would love nothing more than to celebrate his birthday with a performance similar to that of last year's.
