Roberts Returns to Champions Play

Champions TourAfter a month off from the rigors of the Champions Tour, hell try again this week. Loren Roberts, who won the first three tournaments of the year but hasnt turned the trick since, plays in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf in Savannah, Ga.
Actually, Roberts has played in only five events on the Champions Tour this year. His last win was in mid-February at the ACE Group Classic. Since then he finished a tie for fifth place the following week at the Outback Pro-Am and a tie for seventh in mid-March at the AT&T Classic ' when, incidentally, he shot over-par (74) is his only round this season.
Last week Roberts played the PGA TOUR's Verizon Heritage Classic and finished tied for 27th.
Roberts is still nearly double the amount that the No. 2 player, Morris Hatalsky, has won this season. Roberts has collected $862,680, while Hatalsky has earned $470,771. Tom Kite, Brad Bryant and Gil Morgan round out the top five.
Tom Watson, who had played in only three events this season, is the scoring leader, narrowly edging Roberts by 67.56-67.97. Watson will also skip the Legends.
