Rose, 21, of England, took his first-ever victory on the tour at the dunhill Championship in South Africa, when he birdied three of his last four holes to finish at 20-under-par, two strokes better than three players including U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen.
Olazabals recent success occurred in America, as the Spaniard and two-time Masters champion won the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines. His victory follows his triumph last November, when he won the Hong Kong Open.
Said young Rose of his accomplishment: It was a week I will never forget (the dunhill), winning the title in front of so many family and friends in Johannesburg. I am delighted to add the Asprey & Garrad Award to my growing collection of silverware and it was especially nice to follow up that win with another victory in the Nashua Masters on the Sunshine Tour.
