Ryder Cuppers Assemble in Austria

European TourThe European Tour welcomes a new event this week as many of the top players prepare for next week's U.S. Open Championship.
That doesn't mean the field will be without star power. Former European Ryder Cuppers Thomas Bjorn and Miguel Angel Jimenez join eight-time Order of Merit winner Colin Montgomerie in Austria this week.
This tournament has been part of the Challenge Tour schedule since 2003, but will now be part of the European Tour`s International schedule for the next three seasons. While the top players in the world will be at the U.S. Open next week, the European Tour offers the Aa St Omer Open, where Joakim Backstrom was victorious last year.
