Scottish Pros Announce Schedule


Scotland's professional golfers will be competing for close tp $1 million this season, with the highlight of the year being the Gleneagles Scottish PGA Championship.
Peter Lloyd, the Scottish PGA regional secretary, sad the championship would be played again over the PGA Centenary course at Gleneagles. But the championship has been moved to a later date, Aug 28-31, and the prize fund increased by 10 percent.
The 72-hole Grampian International Freight Northern Open moves to the links course at Cruden Bay,June 3-6. A new 54-hole tournament, the Scottish Water Aid Pro-Am will be played over both courses at St Andrews Bay May 6-8.
The remaining Order of Merit tournaments will again be the three 36-hole Pro-Ams - at Wishaw June 7-8, the Volvo Ayrshire Hospice at West Kilbride Aug 18-19, and the Tredaire Classic at Dumfries and Galloway Sept 13-14..
