Singh Donates $50000 to Hurricane Victims

Vijay Singh, an eight-time champion this year on the PGA TOUR, has donated $50,000 as part of his CRESTOR Charity Challenge victory at the 84 Lumber Classic to the American Red Cross to support the victims of Hurricane Jeanne.
Singh resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and pledged his support to help those in need in his home state of Florida.
'Having just personally experienced the damaging effects of Hurricane Jeanne, I am pleased to direct my Crestor Charity Challenge donation of $50,000 from the 84 Lumber Classic to the American Red Cross for relief efforts in the State of Florida, said Singh.
Singh has won the CRESTOR Charity Challenge four times in 2004. In addition to last week, he shared honors with John Huston at the Shell Houston Open and donated the money to Providence House, a facility in Cleveland, Ohio, that provides health care, shelter, and education for abused children. Singh went on to win the CRESTOR Charity Challenge again at the Buick Open in August and the Deutsche Bank Championship. His $100,000 in charitable winnings from the latter two events also benefitted the American Red Cross.
