Singh Misses Second Straight Cut

2005 Chrysler ChampionshipVijay Singh accomplished something Friday that he hadnt done since 1995. And it wasnt a good thing.
Singh missed the cut for the second straight week, marking the first time hes done that since the 95 Masters and MCI tournaments.
Singh shot even-par 71 in the second round of the Chrysler Championship to go along with his opening 74. He finished at 3-over-par 145, missing the 36-hole cut by one stroke.
Singh also missed the cut at last weeks Funai Classic at Walt Disney World. Ironically, he has won each of these two events. He captured the Funai in 2003 and was the defending champion at the Chrysler.
This was the last of his nine title defenses of the season. He also missed the cut in his title defense at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Singh last missed two consecutive cuts in 2001, doing so at the Bell Canadian Open and SEI Pennsylvania Classic (now the 84 Lumber Classic). In between those two events, the WGC-American Express was canceled due to the September 11 terrorist attacks.
This was his fourth missed cut of the year; the most hes missed in a single year since 2002. Singh has three or fewer cuts in nine of his previous 12 seasons on the PGA Tour.
