South African Immelman a Rising Star

The South African Tour winds up its season with the South African Tour Championship at Malelane.
Trevor Immelman, fresh off his victory in the Dimension Data Pro-Am, already has sewn up the South African money title but hopes to continue his torrid pace.
The 23-year-old South African will be joined in the field by countryman Tim Clark and Englands Justin Rose.
The Tour Championship features an all-exempt field comprised of 72 professionals and three amateurs. A win here will also qualify for the British Open Championship, the World Golf Championship's American Express Championship and the NEC Invitational and the Victor Chandler British Masters.
Immelman, the hottest player in the world if not for Ernie Els, has two victories and a second in his last three starts. He won the South African Airways Open at the beginning of the year, finished tied for second in the Dunhill Championship and won the above-mentioned Dimension Data Pro-Am prior to the Tour Championship.

Also in the field is defending champion Darren Fichardt, whose victory last year got him onto the European Tour, where he finished a very respectable 79th on the European money list.
