Spectator Ejected for Wearing Gas Mask

SANDWICH, England (AP) -- A spectator was ejected from the British Open after causing a security alarm by walking around the course wearing a gasmask, police said on Saturday.
According to Kent police, the 61-year-old Englishman was not considered a terror risk or a danger to stars such as Tiger Woods. But he was thrown out of Royal St. George's because he was making a nuisance of himself.
'He was a genuine spectator with a ticket and was trying to attract the attention of the TV cameras,' said Kent police press spokesman Martin Pearce.
'He was wearing a gasmask at the time and making a nuisance of himself and asked to leave.'
