St Andrews Drops out of 2009 Ryder Cup Race

In an attempt to strengthen the Scottish bid for the venue choice of the 2009 Ryder Cup, St. Andrews has officially pulled out of the race.
Scotland is now represented by Carnoustie, Turnberry, Loch Lomond and Gleneagles as its nominees for the bi-annual event.
England and Wales have only appointed one location in each of their respective bids. England will be promoting Slaley Hall, and Wales has selected Celtic Manor Resort.
With the dropping of St. Andrews, Scotland hopes that it will increase the chances of the venue to be hosted in their country.
