Heading the field is Ryder Cup star Colin Montgomerie, fresh off his co-victory in Europe's season-ending Volvo Masters. Monty, who shared the title with Bernhard Langer after darkness forced the end of the tournament, will be playing for the first time in China.
'I haven't played in mainland China before and that's why I'm really looking forward to competing. I'm designing a golf course in China, my first ever in that part of the world, and that is doubly exciting for me,' said Montgomerie. 'It's extra special, too, for me to have my name associated with golf in China.'
Also joining Montgomerie in the far east is big John Daly, one the world's most popular golfers. Daly, whose game has rebounded over the last year, will garner most of the attention as he is known throughout the world for his go-for-broke style.
Lee Westwood and Paul McGinley, the fun-loving Irishman who sank the final putt for the Europeans in the Ryder Cup, will add even more flavor to the international field.
