Sutherland Passing the Test


David Sutherland decided to play in this weeks Buy.Com Utah Classic in order to test his shoulder under tournament conditions.
He may now be wishing he had gone straight back to the PGA Tour.
Sutherland, who has only played in one event prior to this week due to shoulder surgery, followed an opening 63 with a second-round 64 to take a commanding lead in Sandy, UT.
Sutherland stands at 17-under-par 127 through two rounds, hes six shots clear of his nearest competitor, Danny Briggs (66).
For the second straight day, Sutherland recorded nine birdies. He made his first, and thus far only bogey of the tournament at the par-4 6th ' his 15th hole of the day.
Sutherland has been a member of the PGA Tour since 1997. He finished 96th on the 2000 money list. His older brother, Kevin, has also played on tour since 1996.
David, 35, finished tied for second in the 1997 Greater Milwaukee Open.
