Tamara Hyett is Suprise Leader in Australia

After 36 holes, 62 of the world's best Australian and international lady professional golfers made the cut into the final rounds at the ALPG Players' Championship at Horizons Golf Resort today.
 
Surprise leader Tamara Hyett is placed in first position after round two with an impressive 10-under. In the top-14 there are six Australians and two Solheim Cup players - Sophie Gustafson (Sweden) and Maria Hjorth (Sweden).
 
Tied in second position with 6-under par are Georgina Simpson (England) and Julie Forbes (Scotland) with rounds of 69 and 71. Four share 4th position with 4-under par consisting of Loraine Lambert (Qld), Sophie Gustafson (Sweden), Carlie Butler (NSW) and Maria Hjorth. Joanne Mills (NSW) and Samantha Head (England) are lying in tie 8th position with 3-under par after completing play in hot conditions.
 
Horizons Golf Resort Touring professional Nadina Taylor completed today with a 2-under par 71 to progress to the final rounds. Taylor said, '(She) was very happy with her game today and felt confident going into the finals on her home course.'
 
With competition being so tight, Cherie Byrnes of Horizons Golf Resort missed the cut by one stroke with a 5-over par.
 
Warren Sevil, General Manager, ALPG Tour said 'Competition has been very tough and there was some great action on course today. There were two eagles on par 4's when Tamara Hyett had her second shot on the 11th and when Ludivine Kreutz (France) holed her second shot on the final hole from 100 metres'.
