Tataurangi Collapses onTee


Phil Tataurangi collapsed onthe 17th tee Friday during the second round of the Air Canada Championship, and then ignored the advice of doctors and resumed play.
Starting on the back nine, the 29-year-old New Zealander fell to the ground and clutched his chest. He never lost consciousness, but paramedics placed him on a stretcher at the side of the tee box and hooked him up to an oxygen tank.
Following a 20-minute delay, he continued his round.
Tataurangi suffers from Superventricular tachycardia, a heart condition that causes a sudden increase in his heart rate.
Tataurangi shot 72 to miss the cut by three shots.
