Ted Kroll, 82, died Tuesday night. The New York native won nine times on the PGA Tour. He was a member of the United States Ryder Cup team in 1953, '55 and '57. Kroll also led the tour money list in 1956.
Born on Aug. 4, 1919, Kroll served in World War II, where he was awarded three Purple Hearts for being wounded in combat.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, and four daughters.
