Terry Price Prevails Down Under


Terry Price of Queensland carded a final round 2-under-par 70 to win the New South Wales Open by a single shot over a large pack of contenders.
Price, whose opening round 66 had him leading the tournament on Day 1, came full circle to finish on top with a four-day total 9-under 279 and claim the first-place check from the $200,000 purse.
Mahal Pearce and Adam Groom both closed with 5-under-par 67s, but came up a stroke short in their bid to force a playoff.
Joining them in second place were Andre Stolz, Wayne Grady and Jason Norris at 8-under par.
Aaron Byrnes, Michael Wright and Andrew Tschudin finished in a tie for sevenh at minus-7.
Three players ended up at 6-under and three more at 5-under.
