Last year, Tewell bettered good friend Gil Morgan at the Park Meadows Country Club.
The 2000 Rookie of the Year shot back-to-back 66s on the weekend to take home his third title of the season. Battling Morgan shot for shot down the stretch Sunday, Tewell clinched the victory with his second straight eagle on the par-5 17th.
Arnold Palmer, who shot his age (70) for the second time on the Senior Tour, also highlighted the final round.
This years purse has been increased to $1.5 million, with the winner receiving $225,000.
In addition to Tewell and Morgan, last week's winner Bruce Lietzke, Bruce Fleisher, Andy North, Jim Thorpe and Lee Trevino are scheduled to compete.
The key to victory may be held in the second-round lead. In the previous four events, the player who has led or been tied for the lead through 36 holes has won the tournament.
