TGC to Showcase PGA Professionals


PGA of AmericaORLANDO, Fla. -- With an expanded field of 312 PGA Professionals from 44 states convening upon Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, N.Y., The Golf Channel will air 10 hours of live coverage of the largest tournament on The PGA of America calendar, The PGA Professional National Championship.
The Golf Channels exclusive coverage begins Thursday, June 22, and continues through Sunday, June 25. Airtimes will be 4 ' 6:30 p.m. ET, daily. In addition, highlights will air on Golf Central at 9 p.m. ET each night of the tournament.
During all four rounds of the national championship, select PGA Professionals will be wired for sound and will interact with The Golf Channel analysts during the course of their round, providing an insiders view to the PGA Professional National Championship.
Brian Anderson and former PGA Tour professional Curt Byrum will serve as host and analyst of the tournament broadcast. LPGA Tour veteran Donna Caponi, former touring professional Jerry Foltz and current PGA Professional Michael Breed of Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y., will handle the on-course reporting and interviews.
The PGA Professional National Championship features 312 PGA Club Professionals representing all 41 PGA Sections. The tournament will take place on Turning Stones Shenandoah and Atunyote Golf Clubs, with the low 70 and ties playing the final 36 holes at Atunyote Golf Club.
