Tigers Win Earns High Ratings for CBS

Sunday's tape-delayed battle at the WGC-NEC Invitational between Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk drew a 7.0 rating and a 17 share for CBS. Those numbers are up almost 50% from Tiger's win a year ago that received a 4.7 rating and an 11 share.
The biggest suprise was the number drawn during the final hour of the telecast which featured Woods and Furyk in the midst of a seven-hole playoff eventually won by Tiger. That hour, which fell into primetime, drew an 11.0 rating and a 23 share. Those numbers place the coverage in second place for the week's highest rated primetime shows behind only Connie Chung's interview with Rep. Gary Condit on ABC.
