Woods pulled out of the Buick Open last week, just one month removed from committing to play. The Buick spokesman tied for 11th a year ago in this event.
Woods didn't factor into the final outcome, which saw Rocco Mediate edge Chris Perry by one shot.
Mediate never led the entire tournament and trailed by one stroke going to the last hole, but made a 12-foot birdie putt while Perry missed a 10-foot par putt.
The two-shot swing gave Mediate his fourth career PGA Tour title.
Mediate has yet to win this season, though he contended in the U.S. Open before finishing fourth. That was the 38-year-old Pennsylvanians last completed event. He was forced to withdraw from the Buick Classic and Open Championship due to back problems that have haunted him his entire career.
Past champions Duffy Waldorf (1999), Billy Mayfair (1998), Justin Leonard (1996) and Brad Faxon (1991) are scheduled to compete for the $558,000 first-place prize.
Also committed are 2001 U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen, Phil Mickelson, Hal Sutton, Tom Lehman, Jim Furyk, Padraig Harrington and Jose Maria Olazabal.
This is the 41st playing of the event. Warwick Hills has hosted the tournament on 35 occasions.
