Tour Heads to the Lone Star State

The Buy.Com Tour heads to Texas this week and the Club at Mission Dorado for the Permian Basin Open.
While Kevin Johnson won last years event, he will not be playing this time around, as he earned enough money in 2000 to advance to the PGA Tour.
However, the usual staple of talent on the circuit will be making the trip, including Jonathan Byrd, Bo Van Pelt, Pat Perez, Chad Campbell and Rob McKelvey.
They will all be playing for a total purse of $425,000, $76,500 of which will go to the eventual champion.
The Club at Mission Dorado plays to a par of 72 at 7,221 yards. The tournament record here is from 1997, when Paul Gow shot a four-day total score of 267. The course record is 62, fired first by Johnson in 97 and then Dicky Thompson in 99.
