Tour Heads North to Carolina Classic

Mark Hensby got his birthday wish last year. After turning 29 on Thursday, Hensby was hoping to have something bigger to celebrate on Sunday.
Carolina Classic
Hensby defeated Manny Zerman on the seventh playoff hole to win his second career title at the Buy.Com Carolina Classic.
The victory helped vault the Australian onto the PGA Tour in 2001. He finished the 00 campaign second on the Buy.Com Tour money list.
Zerman wasnt as fortunate. He ended the year 70th in earnings.
Hensby and Zerman were tied at 18-under-par 266 at the end of regulation a year ago. Both men sank a pair of 10-foot birdie putts on the fifth extra hole. Zerman then missed an eight-foot birdie putt on the sixth hole of sudden death that would have won him the tournament.
On what proved to be the ultimate hole, Zerman missed from five feet, while Hensby tapped in from two feet for par and the victory.
This years event will be contested on the TPC at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, NC. The tournament had been played the previous three years at the Raleigh Country Club.
The purse is $450,000, with $81,000 going to the winner.
