Tryon Turns Down $1 Million Offer

Ty Tryon has turned down a reported $1 million offer to play in the European Tours Dubai Desert Classic. The event is scheduled Mar. 7-10, which is opposite the Honda Classic, where Tryon made his PGA Tour debut as a 16-year-old amateur a year ago.
Tryon, 17, became the youngest player in PGA Tour history to earn his card in last months Qualifying Tournament. He is scheduled to make his first start of the season in two weeks, at the Phoenix Open.
Because of his age, Tryon can only receive seven sponsor's exemptions prior to turning 18 on June 2. The Orlando high school junior is expected to play in at least three events on the Florida Swing, including the Honda Classic in Coral Springs and Orlandos Bay Hill Invitational.
Tryon first made a name for himself last year by finishing 39th at the Honda.
