United States Wins Collegiate Golf Championship

The United States claimed a 37-23 victory against Japan Thursday in the 26th edition of the Collegiate Golf Championship.
The U.S. has now accumulated a 19-7 record in this event, beating out Japan each of the last six years. The tournament pits the best male and female collegiate golfers in each respective country against one another.
Anthony Arvidson, who attends Oregon State, shot the lowest score of the week on the mens side of the event, totaling 10-under-par 206, while Natalie Gulbis of Arizona State recorded a 2-over 218 to headline the women.
The event was held at the Verde Sano Country Club in Numata, which is some 48 miles northwest of Tokyo.
