Monday, Aug. 11: The USGA announces the Walker Cup Team selections. Who will represent the U.S in this biennial competition between the best male amateurs from the United States, Great Britain and Ireland? This years Walker Cup takes place Sept. 6-7 at Ganton Golf Club in North Yorkshire, England. And the United States has lost three of the last five matches.

Monday August 18: Jack Nicklaus, the Presidents Cup U.S. Captain, will make his final selection for the U.S. Presidents Cup Team during grand opening ceremonies at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms, the golf course he designed in Sheboygan Falls. The Golf Channels Tom Nettles will be in there when the announcement is made. The top 10 players in the standings automatically make the U.S. team for the Ryder Cup-style competition, which will be played Nov. 17-23 at the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club in George, South Africa.
Tuesday August 19: A feature on the latest charitable venture of The PGA Tour Wives Association. Following the PGA Championship, Shannon Austin, wife of Woody Austin, will put a quilt up for auction on Ebay to raise money for their charity. The quilt was made by the Tour Wives from T-Shirts representing each of the PGA Tour events on the schedule.
September 8 ' 14: During Solheim Cup week, Rich Lerner will talk to top golfing instructors Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott about their co-authored booklet called Golf Parent for the Future. Marriott and Nilsson, who co-founded Coaching for the Future at Legacy Golf Resort, use the booklet to discuss the importance of the parents role in the healthy development of todays junior golfer, both as a player and as a young person.
