US Walker Cup Selections Made


The United States Golf Association has picked seven members of the team that will represent the United States in the Walker Cup.
Four-time selection John Harris, second-time member Bryce Molder and reigning U.S. Amateur champion Jeff Quinney were among the chosen. All three are playing in this weeks U.S. Open at Southern Hills.
Also selected were U.S. Amateur runner-up James Driscoll, two-time selection David Eger, 1999 Mid-Amateur champion Danny Green and 2000 Public Links champion D.J. Trahan.
The remainder of the 10-man squad will be chosen in July. The Walker Cup is an amateur version of the Ryder Cup, pitting the U.S. against a team from Great Britain and Ireland.
This years event will be contested Aug. 11-12 at Sea Island, Ga.
