USGA Wants Palmer to Remain as National Chairman

It looks as though the United States Golf Association and Arnold Palmer are trying to bury the hatchet following the controversy over Callaway's non-conforming driver.
The USGA announced it has asked Palmer to continue as the national chairman of its members program and Palmer says he will do so proudly.
The 71 year-old Palmer endorses the use of Callaway's ERC driver, which the USGA says is illegal. Arnie issued a statement through the USGA in which he says he has not changed his position and that the disagreement is a respectful one among friends.
