Valderrama to Host Volvo Masters Andalucia


The Club de Golf at Valderrama, Spain, will host the Volvo Masters Andalucia again from Nov. 7-10. The contract runs for three years.
Valderrama first hosted the Volvo Masters Andalucia in 1988 with Nick Faldo the winner. The tournament moved to the Montecastillo Hotel & Golf Resort in Jerez, Spain, when Valderrama was chosen to host the Ryder Cup in 1997.
Five editions of the tournanent were held there between 1997 and 2001. Now the tournament is returning to Valderrama.
'Returning to Valderrama marks a new and exciting chapter in the life of the Volvo Masters Andalucia,' said Mel Pyatt, president and CEO of Volvo Event Management. 'Together with our partners, the Junta de Andalucia and Valderra, we intend to develop every aspect of the tournament to new levels of excellence, with a vision of it becoming firmly established as a truly world golfing event.'
