'I really played well,' Wadkins said of his win last year. ''I was excited to play in my first tournament and it was great to be in the hunt. I shot 64 the last day to get into the playoff, and that's about as high as I could have shot. I played an awfully good round of golf on that Sunday.'
There isn't much difference between the Senior Tour and the regular tour, Wadkins says. 'When you're in the hunt, the adrenaline flows and everything gets exciting. You get focused on what you need to do and your senses get keener.
'Last year in Naples, even though I hadn't been in the winner's circle in awhile, I certainly didn't forget how to win. I felt like I was back in my old rhythm, like I hadn't missed a beat.
'If I can get my game where I want it this year, I think I'll be fine.''
Dueling Wadkins will be Larry Nelson, already a winner twice on the Senior Tour this year, Kite, Watson, and Bruce Fleisher.
