Weather Forces Cancellation of Play in Ohio

Foul weather which has been plaguing Beavercreek, Oh. for the last two days showed the LPGA Tour no mercy Friday, and forced the cancellation of the first round of the Champions Classic.
Play was called at approximately 2:10pm ET, some three hours after golfers were brought off the course due to early lightning storms.
The good news, however, is that the weather should begin to taper off Friday night as a cold front pushes through the area, bringing drier conditions.
Nevertheless, Round One is in the books, and it has been determined that the event will be shortened from 54 holes to 36 holes.
Players who made it on the course Friday will start anew on Saturday, play 18 holes, and then finish their second 18 holes on Sunday.
No cut will be made at the halfway point.
