Webbs Grandfather Passes Away

Karrie Webb arrived back Australia Wednesday just hours after her grandfather passed away. 71-year-old Mick Collinson had been a patient at John Flynn Hospital in Gold Coast, Australia since suffering a stroke last Thursday.
'It is with much sadness that my grandfather passed away in the early hours of this morning, while I was on my way from the United States to Australia,' Webb said in a statement. 'My grandfather was very special to me. Unfortunately, he died shortly before I arrived back in Queensland this morning.'
Webb almost withdrew from this week's McDonald's LPGA Championship after hearing about her grandfather's condition. Her parents convinced her to stay while they returned to Australia.
The 26-year old went on to win by two strokes, picking up her second straight LPGA major and completing the career Grand Slam.
