March 31, 1952 ' Marlene Hagge becomes youngest ever to win professional woman event when she wins the LPGAs Sarasota Open at 18.
 
April 1, 1990 ' Jack Nicklaus makes his Senior Tour debut and wins a senior major, the Tradition. Second was Gary Player, four strokes behind.
 
April 2, 1995 ' Harvey Penick dies at 90 years of age. Penick was a legendary coach who tutored Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, Mickey Wright, Kathy Whitworth and Betsy Rawls, among a multitude of others. He was the longtime golf coach at the University of Texas.
 
April 4, 1965 ' Sam Snead becomes the oldest PGA Tour winner in history when he claims the Greensboro Open (52 years, 10 months), his eighth Greensboro title.
